Name : Sushil Kedia, President
Sushil Kedia, 1969, has been traversing the Indian Equity markets for close to last two decades with a career that has spanned varied roles as a successful analyst, trader, broker, strategist, and investment manager. Sushil is serving on the Board of Directors of the Market Technicians Association, Inc. for the term 1 July 2011 to 30 June 2014. He is the first Asian ever to be elected to this position. He has worked in the past for companies such as ING Barings, Standard Chartered Bank, and Devonshire Capital as well as with a few of the best Indian financial services names.
He is a qualified Chartered Market Technician as well as a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst. He brings to the table a unique faculty at blending fundamental value assessments with Technical & Quantitative Market timing frameworks.
He is a Post Graduate in Business Management from the XLRI Jamshedpur School of Business. He has continued to pursue varied learning programs and recently earned the FRM certification from GARP. He is also pursuing a Masters in Financial Engineering from The National University of Singapore.
He is one of the earliest Alternative Investment professionals in the Indian markets and has done significant work in the arenas of market timing, derivatives strategy, quantitative trading, and investing in the Indian context.
His focus is India and his keen interest is in every other liquid and tradable market on the globe from across commodities, currencies, and equity indices.
He has been a regular columnist, market commentator in the various media, regular speaker at various industry conferences in India and overseas, and a highly networked professional who brings multi-faceted holistic perspectives on Indian markets with global inter-market analytics across time spans ranging from intraday to multi-year time fractals.
His hobbies include playing chess, swimming, studying crowds, cookery, writing and reading.
Name : Gnanshekhar Thiagarajan, Senior Vice President
Gnanasekar Thiagarajan currently heads Commtrendz Research, an organization which specializes in commodity research and advisory to market participants in India and overseas. Commtrendz works with corporates and institutions both in India and overseas providing hedging and trading solutions in the volatile commodity and forex markets.
Further to his formal schooling education at IIT Madras, and post graduation in software engineering, he had a long stint (7 years) with DowJones Telerate, one of the leading real-time financial information vendors and promoters of "The Wall Street Journal". He gathered more experience in the banking, financial services and the commodity markets, interacting and providing various real-time solutions to market participants in India and Asia. He had the opportunity of closely working with some of the legends in Technical Analysis history in the U.S, namely Mr. Tim Slater, of “The Computrac” fame, Mr. Mark Douglas famous for his “Disciplined trader” and “Trading in Chaos” books and Mr. Jim Wykcoff for Symmetry wave theory and many more analysts who have traded in Wall Street.
His interest in using technical analysis for trading increased, and then he joined Scotiabank, one of the leading Canadian banks, considered to be a leader in the global bullion markets, to trade in the volatile inter-bank currency and bullion desk. He was a market maker in the G7 currencies, quoting prices constantly. In the meanwhile, his interest for the commodity markets started growing after his columns in The Hindu Business Line won accolades in the international markets. He has accurately forecasted the Malaysian Palm oil futures and had an extremely high success rate in predicting future prices. He also contributes two more columns in The Hindu Business Line on NY Cotton Futures and Comex Gold futures.
With the advent of the commodity exchanges in India, there was a new avenue, which opened up for commodity trading in India. With the experience he acquired in trading at Scotiabank, he joined The Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (MCX) as a Consultant, sharing his thoughts and views on the various commodities to their members. He is regularly invited by various television channels including CNBC, print media like Economic Times and The Business Standard and Newswires like Reuters, Bloomberg, Newswire 18 and Tickerplant Newswire to opine on the commodity markets.
Name : Mitesh Thacker, Secretary
Mitesh Thacker started his career in 1999. He has served in some of the biggest financial services firms in various capacities, from being a Technical Analyst to being Country Head of Trading & Research functions. In the year 2009, he took to entrepreneurship and started his own consultancy and trading venture.
Mitesh is a Post Graduate in Business Management from the T. A. Pai Management Institute, Manipal. He has since then been a keen student and follower of Equity Markets. He currently focuses on Equities as his primary trading arena and much of his work is focused towards areas of Breakout trading, Algorithmic trading, quantitative analysis, derivative strategies etc.
He has been a commentator on business television and is regularly invited to share his technical opinions on stocks and indices. He is a well networked professional who has been a speaker at various industry forums as well as he has conducted training programs on the subject in association with the Bombay Stock Exchange and other professional agencies.
Mitesh has been married for 10 years and has two children. His hobbies include playing chess and he is also a keen collector / trader of ancient coins and currency.
Name : Anuragh Ghuwalewala, Treasurer
Anurag is a rates trader with HSBC India since 2006. He trades various cash & derivative rate products using technical and fundamental analysis.
He is a Post Graduate in Business Management from IIM-Bangalore and was amongst the top ten students in his batch. Prior to this, he has done the Chartered Accountancy course from the Institute of Chartered Accountants, India and is a recipient of the U.K. Bhargava prize for Best Paper in Income Tax & Central Sales Tax.
He is undergoing the Chartered Market Technician certification process.
